Ant (Tetramorium simillimum). Yellowish to reddish brown ants less than 2 mm long. Very similar to Wasmannia auropunctata. They forage individually on the ground, often in large numbers, and are most active during the morning and evening hours. Nests are found ususally in the soil. They are general scavengers or predators and seed collecting is common. They often can be invasive species affecting other insect populations.
