Rifamycins are particularly effective against mycobacteria, and are therefore used to treat leprosy, tuberculosis, and mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infections. The rifamycin group includes the following drugs: Rifamycin A, Rifamycin B, Rifamycin C, Rifamycin D, Rifampicin, Rifabutin, Rifapentine.
